Proelefsi Chapter at the University of Florida

This year, the Proelefsi Chapter will be supporting the Hananasif Orphanage Center of Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania with the help of the J Movement of First Assembly of God in Gainesville, FL.

Hananasif is a faith-based, non-profit organization serving orphaned and underprivileged children in the city of Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania.

Hananasif Orphanage Center was founded by Hezekia Mwalugaja in 2002,burdened by the escalating proportions of orphaned and impoverished children left in the wake of disease and poverty in Tanzania, currently ranked the fifth poorest country in the world.

It began as a modest daycare center with twelve children who came for emotional and relational support, as well as financial help to pay for school fees in order to be able to continue their education.

A manageable twelve children soon turned to thirty as the original kids began to ask on behalf of their friends in need and other neighboring children if they could come as well to join the program. HOCET currently cares for thirty children - their current maximum capacity given the extent of their resources.

How Can You Help?

Through out this year, our chapter will be collecting feminine supplies as well as monetary donations to support the children at the Hananasif Oprhanage. During the summer, a group of people will be going on a missions trip to the Hananasif Orphanage, carrying the supplies needed for the children. The current need at the orphanage is for feminine supplies. If you want to donate, please email us at proelefsi@aohafricansororityinc.org. We would really appreciate all your donations

We will also be helping the group from First Assembly of God, Gainesville FL by fund-raising for their trip (plane tickets, etc.). If you would like to donate online, please click on the donations tab on the side bar.

 Thank you so much.
