In the spring of 2007, Eyram Adadevoh, a then student at the University of Florida, was endowed with a vision that would spread far beyond and transcend all geographic boundaries and color lines. This vision would bring together the world's most dispersed people group and teach a great lesson of love. In lieu of the African history and experience, Alpha Omega Eta African Sorority, Incorporated was conceived in the city of Gainesville, Florida on May 11, 2007 by women who made commitments to let history be a teacher and live lives of Vision, Mission, Integrity, Everlasting Love and Excellence, in order to be symbols of the best Africa and of the world.
Joining Her Highness, Lioness Eyram Adadevoh, in founding this great sorority were Her Highnesses;
Lioness Amanda Igho Clarke
Lioness Olufunlola Agbi
Lioness Ruth Asana
Lioness Folakunbi Disu and
Lioness Ibiyinka Agbi
Together they formed the River of Dreams. Alpha Omega Eta African Sorority is the first and currently the only sorority geared towards the needs of the African people.
It is the founders solemn vow that "...no matter how violently the wind blows, it can not cause the river to flow backwards into the sea." (Zimbabwean Proverb). Onward has been their march since then, and by commitment of the heart with every new sister, onward shall be their march forever more.
The Pacesetters...
The Pacesetters' assiduous journey as Wanawake began in the Spring of 2008. It was marked on April 26,2008 when the Pacesetters pledged to commit themselves to the sisterhood of Alpha Omega Eta African Sorority Incorporated. Aware of their obligation as Wanawake, they set to surrender themselves to the world as leaders who can and would be emulated in their Excellence, Leadership and Service.
The ladies that make up the Pacesetters, who also make up the Founding Line of Alpha Omega Eta African Sorority, are Her Highness's;
Lioness Olubusayo Fawole, Lioness Elorm Dzrekey and Lioness Adetutu Dada.
Knowing no limits, these women strive to succeed in all they do, walking in Everlasting Love and Excellence. They have set themselves apart from other women by aiming for perfection and nothing else. They are bent on proving the difference between women and Wanawake. They never look back at what they were, but what they are and would be.
"For God, for mankind, for such a time as this; To her whom much is given, much is required."
