Alpha Omega Eta African Sorority, Inc. is looking for women who love people and are driven by the purpose of service to mankind.  Giving is our primary business, and we do so by sacrificing our time, our minds, our bodies, and our resources to the furtherance of our communities.

 

To achieve Excellence in all that we do, Alpha Omega Eta African Sorority, Inc, requires high academic achievement due to our conviction that an educated mind is an empowered mind. 

 

We also require self-aware individuals with clear mission and purpose which show commitment to our values and principles. We accept membership at the undergraduate, graduate and professional levels.

Membership Intake Requirements for the AΩH Proelefsi Chapter:

To be eligible for membership into Alpha Omega Eta African Sorority, Inc. you must adhere to these requirements and submit the following documents.

  ♥ You must at minimum possess an undergraduate degree or be a full-time degree-seeking student at a four-year college, and reside in the city of Gainesville, FL. 

  ♥ A minimum cumulative G.P.A of 2.75 is required but we do encourage our interested ladies to exceed this minimum requirement. 

  ♥ You must attend a Gathering the Pride (GTP) awareness seminar in your semester of interest. 

  ♥ A complete GTP Rush Application form. 

  ♥ An official university transcript embossed with the university's official seal. 

  ♥ A one-page typed essay stating your interest in Alpha Omega Eta African Sorority, Inc.

 

Our next GTP Awareness Seminar is on Thursday, November 19, 2009 at 6.30pm, University of Florida's FLG 285

Alpha Omega Eta African Sorority, Inc. is currently hosting the It's My Decade! campaign. It’s My Decade! was birth for the promotion of the Africa Women’s Decade declared by the African Union. This campaign will be ongoing from 2010 until 2020. It is a promotion for African women to be empowered to make personal goals that develop positive changes for themselves and their communities. The Alpha Omega Eta African Sorority Inc. Fundraiser barbecue in Houston

Texas.

Theme: "Each One Can Reach One"

The proceeds from the Fundraiser will go towards shelving and books for the library at the Airfield primary school, in the Volta region, near Ho, which is located in Ghana, West Africa. This school serves 150 pupils from five surrounding villages in Ghana.

Date: Saturday June 26th

Time: 2pm to 6pm

Food and Beverages will be provided.
